Opened in 2002, Scandic Sydhavnen Copenhagen is a modern, glass fronted hotel, three kilometres from the centre of Copenhagen and eight kilometres from the airport. This five floor hotel features 281 Scandinavian style guestrooms with white walls and wooden floors. In room amenities include air conditioning, satellite television with pay movies and video games, complimentary Internet connections, minibars, safes and hair dryers.
Guests can work out in the gym before unwinding in the sauna and solarium. The bar area is equipped with computers where guests can browse the Internet to plan days out. The informal restaurant has an open kitchen and serves international, Oriental and Danish dishes; the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Trains run from the airport to Central Station. From central station, trains run to a station 200 metres from the hotel in under 10 minutes. Taxis are readily available from ranks at Terminal 3 East and Terminal 1, Halls 3 and 6. Buses nos. 9, 250S and 500S run from the airport to the city centre and beyond until midnight daily. The city's public transport system comprises a metro rail network called S train, and a bus system called HT. There is also a new underground metro system and numerous cycle paths.
